PROGRAM
DAY 1 | Uzbekistan, TASHKENT
Arrival in Tashkent Meeting with the local guide and transfer to the hotel. After a short rest and (breakfast at the hotel) later Tashkent excursion begins. The famous architectural complex of Khast Imam, of particular interest where the oldest existing Koran (7th century) is preserved, marked with the blood of Caliph Osman himself, the Barak Khan madrassa (16th century), in the 20th century was transformed into a craft center. The mausoleum of Kaffal Shashi (Kaffol – the blacksmith who made the padlock), tomb of the homonymous poet and philosopher of Islam who lived from 904 to 979. The visit to the Chorsu market with a huge dome covered in mosaics. Chorsu Bazar is one of the most charming and the market that has existed since the 7th Century in Tashkent, famous for its dried local fruits, spices, bread, fruits, vegetables, traditional uzbek clothes, handmade craft items and other things. In Tashkent you can’t skip the subway built in the 70s.Monument of Courage Earthquake Memorial complex dedicated to the 1966 earthquake that impacted Tashkent. Take a walk to Independence Square included with the Memorial Complex and Palace of Prince Romanov, this beautiful palace can only be seen through the fence and Amir Temur Square. DAY 2 | TASHKENT – SAMARKAND
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station and boarding the AFROSIYAB high-speed train at 08:00 arriving at 10:08 (current times, subject to reconfirmation) in Samarkand. Morning dedicated to completing the visits to Samarkand with the beautiful Registan Square and its imposing blue madrasas. Visit the Bibi Khanum Mosque and stop at the colorful and bustling Siab market. Lunch in a restaurant.(Optional) The visit to the Ulug’bek observatory from 1420, of which the remains of an immense astrolabe remain, and the ruins of Afrasiab with the museum which preserves 7th century frescoes. Continue with the beautiful Gur Emir Mausoleum, dedicated to the Tamerlane dynasty and the necropolis of the Shaki Zinda nobles, which includes the Mausoleum of Kusam Ibn Abbas, the cousin of the prophet Muhammad. Overnight at the Hotel in Samarkand. Before dinner, we will observe the famous Registan square illuminated by various lights, listening to music
DAY 3 | SAMARKAND - BUKHARA (270 km.)
THE RUINS OF AFROSIYOB – which extend over 220 hectares and the Afrosiab Museum, which tellsthe entire past of Samarkand, conquerors such as Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan and Amir Temurthey came and lived in these lands. The ruins of this ancient city and the thousands of artifacts in the museum will tell you about the ancient Turkic, Persian, Greek, Arab, Mongol and other peoples; PAPER FACTORY – visit the “Koni Ghil” paper mill which is the only paper mill where paper is produced using the bark of mulberry branches. SAMARKAND SILK CARPET FACTORY – here we enjoy the famous Samarkand silk carpet factory, which is made of colorful and high-quality antique craftsmanship. Seeing each of the natural and precious rugs individually hand-woven in high-quality silk teaches a person to appreciate the work behind it. You have the opportunity to see the process by visiting the factory; In the evening after dinner transfer by fast train Afrosiyob from Samarkand to Bukhara. Transfer to the hotel overnight stay in Bukhara.
Day 4 | BUKHARA
After breakfast at the hotel, whole day dedicated to visiting the historic center, largely dating back to the Khanate period between the 16th and 17th centuries. During the visit to the historic center, in particular we will see the Mausoleum of Ismail Samani, dating back to the 9th-10th century, from an architectural point of view it is considered the oldest mausoleum in Central Asia, the Chashma Ayub complex (dating back to the 12th-14th century, according to Uzbek tradition it is the source of Job, it was built in his honor, it is a sacred place where there is a well with water considered sacred and blessed, the citadel called Ark, actually, was the residence of the governors of Bukhara, its history dates back to the 5th century BC, the madrasas of Ulug Begh and Aziz Khan, the bazaars etc. continues the visit of Bukhara with the oldest mosque in Central Asia which is called Magoki Attori (dates back to the 9th century 16th century, historically it was the place of worship for Zoroastrians and later for Muslims). Lunch in a local restaurant (Optional) LABI HOVUZ COMPLEX (16th-17th century) – Labi Hovuz swimming pool, khanakhoh Nodir Devonbegi and madrassa, Kokaldosh madrassa is a favorite place for local and foreign tourists and its history is a special pleasure for everyone. It was a market square on the site of this historical architectural complex, in the center of the square a large pool was dug, surrounded by stones, and it has always been popular among the people. ANCIENT AND EASTERN CLOSED MARKETS (XVI-XVII): Toqi sarrofon the money changer is the main currency exchange centre. Taki telpakfurushon is a domed building for the production and sale of hats. Abdullah xan Indoor Market is the largest indoor trading post in Bukhara. Taqi Zargaron is a shopping center for selling jewelry. The taqi zargaron is the largest and most complex of Bukhara’s markets; Dinner – We will attend a concert with traditional songs and dances in a madrasa in the historic center of Bukhara, outdoors.(Optional) Overnight at the hotel in Bukhara
Day 5 | BUKHARA – KHIVA (450 km.)
After breakfast, departure for Khiva crossing the Kyzyl Kum (red sands) desert, one of the largest steppes in Central Asia by bus/minivan/car (Optional) Along the way there will be some stops to take photos and also for lunch. Arrival and accommodation in hotel rooms. After a short rest we take a simple trip to get to know the historical center Ichan Kala of Khiva which was once the capital of the empire. Overnight at the hotel in Khiva.
DAY 6 | KHIVA
After breakfast, the beginning of the visit to Khiva, the most intact and remote city of the Silk Road in Central Asia with the Ichan Kala complex, the Koranic School of Amin Khan, the beautiful Friday Mosque, the Bazaar; visit the Old Fortress “Kunya Ark”, where the sultan had his own harem, prisons, stables, arsenal and mosque. Lunch in a restaurant. Assignment of rooms in the hotel and continuation of the visit to the Pakhlavan Mahmud Mausoleum and the beautiful Madrassah Islam Kohja, from 1910. DAY 7 | Ending of the tour | KHIVA – URGENCH – Tashkent International Airport/ Departure
Transfer to (Urgench international airport.) – Tashkent, Islam Karimov International Airport departure.
